Speed problems? Try this..............

Get together with other Insight broadband customers in your area and complain about the overselling and resultant degradation of service to:

1. Your local Public Service Commission (or equivalent).

2. The FCC.

3. The FTC.

4. The local media outlets (tv, newspaper).

I'll bet answering the local media "consumer affairs" reps questions will get their attention!!!!

There really is nothing that you can do about the latency and speed on Cable Broadband. You have better luck on DSL. Why do you think that they have in the TOS that the ISP cannot guarentee speeds on Broadband..

The problems being posted here are about 4000/384 lines operating at 350/384 (as an example). A bit more of a problem than just normal cable variance issues.

I battling with insight over slow speeds at the moment. In the evening I'm seeing download speeds anywhere from 350 to 1000. They've already rolled a truck to my house and of course the signal strength is fine. The connection seems to be fine during the early part of the day. I just got off the phone with them and in so many words they are trying to say I have a virus or some sort of spyware on my computer because they are seeing an abnormal amount of upload on my connection. Well my computer is a new install with no viruses or spyware. I don't install sketchy software and use virus software. I'm sitting behind a Zyxel Zywall router/firewall. I have been doing crap loads of speed tests at night which might account for some of the upload they're seeing. Could an abnormal amount of upload be caused from speed tests or could this possible be some sort of hardware problem on their end?

@insightBB.com

Well, they are told to say anything they can to blaim you and us for any problems on their network. insightbb is the worst BEEPING! company that has ever been around.
First of all, I never had problems with @home
the day of the insightbb switch is when I started having download issues.

Here is the deal i call cust service from kentucky as that is who they pass you to if your having a problem i have 13db of noise on my system and i get this from them monitoring my system. The noise gets worse as i download a file. They come out and say the speeds and noise are fine as i also get a blinking light from my cable modem off and on. This in fact is poor troubleshooting on there end. I really think the speeds are ok for the most part but it is the end result of the techs they send out. They dont seem to be able to do more advance troubleshooting to correct the problems. Tech services say there is a problem and the tech comes out and says everything is fine. I had dsl for over a year and never had a problem went back to insight for the purpose of getting vonage and now i cant get better then a dial up this is crap on insights part

Want better service go to DSL there speeds and customer service blow insight out of the water SBC provided uninterupted service for over a year with great speeds of 650 up and 6000 down now i got insight and i fill like i am getting the shaft

If you had those speeds with DLS then why did you have to switch to cable for your Vonage?
