[Line Quality] Modem keeps losing connectivity.

I'm in Smiths Grove, right outside of Bowling Green, KY, and I can't keep my connection. When I power cycle my modem, I'll connect for 5-10 minutes, and then I'll have to power cycle again. My modem is a Toshiba PCX1100U. I has a similar situation about 2 years ago where I would lose connectivity, and Insight came out and installed a larger cable from the pole, to my house. It's been working great since then, but now this.

I'm also behind a router if that matters. I was hoping to get some ideas as to what I can do before I call tech support. I've tried every thing I know to do, and other ideas?

I am having similiar problems I have had 3 ip changes in 12 hours, which for some reason causer my router to hang up and I have to reboot the router. Then it works again.

Does your IP change?
Try rebooting the router first (pull the power cord) and see if you get connectivity, if not then reboot the modem.

Not much help I know, but tech support would want you to eliminate the router and connect directly to the computer nic.

More than likely it is network problems.

My IP doesn't change. I wouldn't think it's my router, because I'm not seeing any data on my modem. I'm guessing that the data light should blink all the time, just because of all the junk packets passing through. I will try shutting everything down, including my computers, router, and modem just to see what happens.

I am in Louisville and for about 30 hours I was having problems, with it eventually getting to where for three hours the other night my connection just wouldn't work. I called up Insight and I believe I got a national call center tech (he asked for my town and state). He told me that the entire city of Louisville was having problems and they were trying to fix it.

I realize you guys aren't in Louisville, but the modem connection dropping has been happening here until today (apparently they fixed it for our town), so it might well be one huge problem for all of Insight as a whole at present.

Kokomo, IN here. I too have to unplug the cable line from my Motorola modem and cycle the power on it to get connectivity. This happens daily for about a month now. I have been too lazy to call Insight but that will chnage Monday lol.

The call center is in Louisville...

I have had Insight for 4 years now, in Evansville, IN and never had a problem.
