 Weird problem with BF2

I just got BF 2 today and its all installed and everything. Every time I join a game and respawn the game is real laggy, doesnt matter if its single or multiplayer, and after a few seconds it plays fine, perfectly smooth, how can I fix this. My computer is overclocked could that be why?
Specs:
P4 3.0Ghz @3.6Ghz
Geforce 6800 Ultra at 430/1150
1 gig of dual channel ram
See my computer is fine to be able to play this game, but that lag just gets very annoying.

This almost seems "normal" for this game and 1gb or less.
When I was playing with 1gig I had the same issue, lag would go away shortly after the start of a map. With some maps it was just plain laggy off and on, Daqing Oilfields was like that. I put together a new system with 2gb and now the game is smooth throughout.

Have you patched to ver 1.2?

The memory size on my system with everything set to max. is 1.2GB, which means it'll have to page to disk occasionally to fit into 1GB of physical memory.

yea I patched to v 1.2. I have my hard drive partitioned into 3 partitions. Main-35gigs, Dada-150gigs, Page-6gigs. I have no page file in the main and data partitions. I have all of the page file in the page partition and the page file size is 1536-3072. Is that all fine or should I change it for better performance?

I've read different things on the pagefile size. Some say let windows manage it others say set your own size based on memory. It won't increase performance if it is on the same physical disk though. Placing it on a different partition but same disk won't speed things up.

I don't think the overclock is causing your issue. I think the game code is just buggy as heck.
