Re: PA Extreme Tier!

I am really looking forward to these new speeds... I'm sure it will take a little time to get the full speeds just like any other company.

Same here. As hard as it was to get upgraded to Premier, it will make it much easier as they automatically upgrade you to extreme.

For all wondering in PA: I received an automated call from Adelphia anouncing the Extreme Tier will be in effect August 8th 2005. My area is Central Pa.
Do you happen to remember exactly what the call said?

Could we return to topic, please?

Slow speeds in CA and FIOS seem a far stretch from PA Extreme Tier.

low download issues were present for people that had the SB5100 with firmware 1.1.1.1 and others who had old modems, etc.
Good to hear things are well with the SB5100 I recently bought one off of ebay in preparation for switching to Adelphia from Verizon in my area... When I called in they told me to call them back after August 15 when they will have new promotions out (and because it's when the current tenant disables their account). All I can is it better be better than their current promotions, and who knows maybe a side of Extreme with that package!

If I had a guess, I would say Comcast will leave Extreme in place and start rolling it out in their own Legacy Areas.

I live near Pittsburgh Area (non-Comcast areas) and I got the phone call about extreme service... It is supposedly available for me now.

My service is from the Bethel Park Office

From what I understand as well... Adelphia has to meet certain requirements to get the full value of the company. When they were bought out, they were probably told to have a certain standard reached before take over. Good for us Adelphia customers...

Having a certain standard before acquisition is one thing, but exceeding it is another. There would be no logical reason in my opinion to exceed Comcast's tiers or RoadRunners tier's. before the acquisition. I don't believe this was required. I think this was in the works by Adelphia and they are following through dispite the acquisition.

Actually why not... its not comming out of Comcasts or Time Warners Pockets... they probably put that in the contract to have FIOS type speeds before acquisition. Lets just say it wouldnt suprise me.
