| My locked Sipura 2002 and Voicepulse
This morning I signed up for BYOD with voicepulse, before I followed their directions for importing the configuratrion settings into the Sipura I have I was able to login as admin, now, after importing it I wasnt able to. I cant login at all now, I have tried entering what my password would be and it still doesnt work, logged in as the user "admin". Anyone have any any similar experience or know how to do some sort of master reset on my device?
thanks |

| reply to money694 Unfortunately, this is the nature of VoicePulse. VoicePulse locks down the device, regardless if you actually own the device or not. I know they temporarily change the password to "12345" during the initial part of the provisioning process, but soon after that, it is changed to a password which only VoicePulse knows. If you need admin access, then the only way to get that back is to cancel VoicePulse, after which you will have full access to your device again. Of course, if you like VoicePulse, doing that probably isn't on your agenda.
I suppose you might be interested in VoicePulse Open Access or VoicePulse connect, both of which will run on a Sipura without having it locked down. The only problem here is the limitations. VP Open Access is only available if you have an existing account, plus it is an extra monthly charge. In your case, this would probably be pointless (unless you bought another Sipura), since your Sipura would still be locked down. VP Connect doesn't require an existing account of any kind, but all it does is give you connectivity without any other features. This is ideal if you have an Asterisk server or the like though. In the case of a Sipura, it would be kind of useless to use VP Connect, except maybe just for outgoing calls.
I hope this explanation helps. By the way, if you're locked out of Line 2 of the Sipura, then contact VP, since they aren't supposed to lock that down. They locked down my Line 2, but after a quick phone call to them, it was resolved. In any case, there is still no way to get admin access other than magically figuring out the correct password or having your account canceled. |

| reply to money694 I have a borrowed Sipura 2000 with VoicePulse too, to add to a couple of other TAs I own. By default, they also lock the second port. Reason they do that, so you can go back to their web portal and add a second line. It will show on their web portal that you can add another line to it. I did call them up, and they unlocked it for me. Once I did, I went back to their web portal, and it no longer showed the device had another line available to add another service with them. I then configured line two with Stanaphone. Their open access plan, for $9.99 a month (500 outgoing U.S. minutes), allows a second line that they give you the credentials for, that you can configure on any telephone adapter or softphone you want. But to get open access, you need a primary line with them on a locked telephone adapter. I think it would be cool if they offered open access as a stand-alone product, for $9.99, but that's not in their business model. |
