| Video iPod Coming After All?
Looks like they're either fueling the rumors or really going ahead with it. Apple has reportedly changed their trademark statement for the iPod. quote: From this: ...portable and handheld digital electronic devices for recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, and audio files.

This is coming from endgadget.com. -- "Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind." - Julius Caesar. Beware the Ides of March Bush! |

| I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I, personally, don't have any interest in a portable video player.

I've never been in line at the bank and thought to myself "Gee, I'd love to watch a Weezer video right now." Then again, being able to watch live TV on one might be marketable. I was at the World Series game at Candlestick Park when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit, and it didn't seem like that big a deal until I saw a fuzzy picture of the collapsed section of the Bay Bridge on somebody's Walkman TV. -- bobrk | The Blow Kings |

| Also, I would think with the size of some video files, this would result in larger sized iPods. If you don't want the video or pictures on there, that is a TON more room for music.
I don't see the point in the Photo or even Video aspect of it. I would just welcome the huge amount of room for my ever growing music collection. |

| reply to JoshNJ said by JoshNJ :why does everyone keep ignoring the idea that any video ipod would almost certainly be able to output to a tv, just as the ipod photo does Like JoshNJ says, people would buy them for the capability to output to a TV. And if Steve Jobs has his way, there will probably be a port added to the iPod video that would allow HD video to connect to an HD TV, how cool would that be!! I would definitely buy one so I could keep the home movies of my son with me and show them to other family members when we go out of town.
I believe an iPod is about taking your digital life with you wherever you go and that includes movies, pictures and music. Think about it like this. Let's say the iPod video becomes reality, the iTMS begins to sell music videos for $1.99 or whatever. You get a super, high quality music video, probably using the H.264 codec that you can watch on your iPod, your TV or inside iTunes. Just think, maybe artists will start to make music videos again and maybe, just maybe, MTV will return to it's roots. -- He must have been an admiral a sultan or a king, and to his praises we shall always sing.
