Yes, they commonly have higher speeds in SOME areas. Mainly where DSL has been uping thier speeds, or in Fios areas. Many areas accross the US still have maximum 3-4mb/s connections just as DSL does. The major thing that kills cable is that many locations where the main hubs are located are over-crowded, causing many people to see dial-up or slower speeds. I know for a fact that that happens in my area since I used to have cable internet, that is the main reason I switched to DSL (as well as cable having higher latency). -- - "Techie" Jim |
