Since when does TELUS decide what and where we go on the Internet.

Telus as of last evening has blocked its Telus.net customers, from accessing www.voices- for-change.com. Voices for change is an independent site for TWU members to discuss TWU issues. I must emphasize again that this site in no way is supported or funded by TWU. Telus is blatantly violating what our fore fathers have died for. Freedom of expression. Telus has taken it upon themselves to decide what its customers can and can not view on the internet. This is dangerous and this is not “Canadian”. This activity is something we here and read about going on in China, not Canada, the best Country to live in on this planet. If you are not concerned with this activity by Telus you should be. What next, you can not go to NHL.com because TELUS does not think it is good for you. Or www.edmontonsun.com or www.edmontonjournal.com because they might not like what the content is. Telus, who like to portray themselves as one of Canada’s leading Corporate citizens has crossed the line and should be punished. Yes as a consumer there are choices out there regarding Internet service that I am certain do not censor its customers. But I choose Telus. Why, because I thought they were being honest when they say “the future is friendly”. Well that may be but presently they are operating like a third World Dictatorship. The Information Highway does not stop at TELUS’s doorway!

Thank you

I think that the website is screwed up. I can't access the website and I use an Independent ISP that does not use Telus at all.

EDIT:

Never mind there is a space in the URL you posted. When I deleted it came up.

What, if anything does this have to do with Canadian Broadband? Seems to me this political rant would be better placed in »/forum/canpol or »Canadian Chat ? Or for that matter why not post it in the »Telus forum?

ya earlier today i saw it in canadian broadband I think.

So just watching global news here in calgary, I think the very first item on the news was all of you all, they showed some clips of the line and such, also mentioned the web site being blocked with somewhat of a responce from some offical person at telus saying that telus has always blocked certain web pages with porn and viruses on them to protect customers??????

what on earth have they blocked before?

At least thats what I think I heard, anyone verify this? (the other sites being blocked I mean)
