said by rcilink :Worse case, you can use the DTA310 to keep your car from rolling.. I may have to try that w/ my bricked DTA!
Just to update everybody: still no luck unbricking my DTA. I assigned it a STATIC IP address (via the phone input mode), but it couldn't be PING'd nor detected by numerous versions of the P8 updater application.
I even tried connecting my DTA directly to my PC (using a crossover cable), both w/ a DHCP server running on my PC (via ICS) and w/o a DHCP server. Without the DHCP server, I configured a STATIC IP on the PC. No luck in all cases.
If somebody knows how to force the DTA back into "downloader mode" from its phone input mode, that may do the trick. The BVA8051 method of doing so doesn't work on the DTA310 (not even on a perfectly good DTA310 running stock P8 firmware).

OK, so I did the 1111 firmware update without checking on this site first and now I have this wonderful DTA-310 door-stop in my home office. I believe I have tried ALL the tricks suggested on this forum and others. The DTA is running however will not take updates (usual story).
My question is, being that this DTA is up and running, is there anyway to FTP or Telnet into the device? If anyone has done this and knows the proceedure, please post instructions. Or, is there a firmware flasher that has been used to resolve. This thing is serving up web pages, so there must be something that can be done.

Any success yet?
Also which chip holds the firmware? I have 2 dta 310ś. One is a brick. Second one the phone side is dead. It does not respond to off hook at all, no audio, nothing.. Believe someone connected it to the number 1 + 2 live landline phone connector.
Other than the phone jack of DTA not having audio, all lights and firmware do operate.
Any suggestions??? |

| Hi, has anyone been able to get the Serial port working to unbrick the DTA? I've been playing with my DTA and I can get all four lights to blink continously by shorting the output enable to ground on the flash chip on startup. But it doesn't really do me any good because I can't communicate with the DTA. Any updates would be appreciated.
Thanks |

| I wrote this thread a while back when I had a few minutes. »DTA-310 Safely Restore from AR160 to 11.11
Thanks to help from others here it explains how to safely down grade from AR16 all the way back to 11.11.
Just back track one firmware at a time. Don't try to go from AR16 all the way back to 11.11 in one step. It will take you a few minutes longer but it won't brick your DTA. |

| Hi,
Thanks for the post, but let me detail my problem. I have DTA with: Application Code Version: DTA version 1.0 US (8x8 001111) Downloader Code Version: 1.0 US (8x8 010221)
no matter what I try I can't get this DTA to go into true bootloader mode so I can't update it using traditional means. I figure I only have three possible options. 1) update the DTA via JTAG/Serial/Host interface. 2) setup a SIP server and possibly push an update via the server. 3) Some how communicate with the DTA and get it to go into bootloader mode.
If anyone has figured out a successful method I'd love the assistance.
Thanks |

For all that this is worth:
It has been posted that holding the reset pin in with the phone off-hook, while plugging in the power cord and waiting for the first LED to start flashing, then releasing the reset pin, will make the unit start beeping.
Entering 1# will lower the beep frequency; entering another digit followed by # will further lower the beep freq; and so on, 2 more times. The unit then resets and can no longer be accessed from the web interface.
I kept playing around, and eventually found a combination (which I don't remember) which reset it all back to "normal", and I can now enter the web interface again.... |

| reply to Mike_27 I have a question. I only have one computer. Right now i have my cable modem plugged direclty into my computer, so i have no need of a router. I plan on hooking up a DTA310. Do i really need to buy a router to do this? Or can i just use the switch that i have laying around somewhere? |

Nobody can tell you that you have to breathe, but of course if you don't you are going to die. If you plan to use the DTA for any real length of time, then I highly recommend that you save yourself the on going problems and get yourself a router. But that is just my advice. |

Hi,
I've been doing more research on a hardware method to unbrick my dta310. Evidentally there is a program called T2burn that can accomplish this via a parallel connection to the host interface. Can someone send me the T2Burn program and pinout diagram for the parallel host interface.
Thanks |

I have been in contact with a poster on another forum that had posted a snip of a document describing the use of the t2burn tool.
unfortunately, he does not recall where the information came from
So, don't give up.. Keep looking. It appears to be a linux toolset, for the T2 or T2U chip (Netergy). |

| Hi,
I've found references to the T2Burn app in relation to the IP250D voip handset phone by teledex and the call-in-one. If someone owns either item maybe they have the software to send us. I don't speak german but the best lead I got was from this website: »www.ip-phone-forum.de/forum/view···p?p=8796 if someone speaks german maybe they can ask the moderator for the cable pinout and program. |

He also told me he does not have the software. |

Here is the MGCP firmware for a DTA310.
I did not test it, as I have no interest in using MGCP when SIP is available.
Does someone have a spare DTA310 they want to try this firmware on? |

If the toolchain is GNU based then the manufacturer is required to make all modifications freely available under the GNU license terms. Have you tried contacting Netergy or Myson (CS6220 is same part as Netergy T2U). |
