| [Help] Online Prints Service
Hi,
I remember reading about services where you can upload your image files and have them mail to you as prints cheaply. What do you guys recommend?
Thanks,

| reply to Tzale I use 2 places depending on the situation, Ofoto (Kodak Easyshare Gallery now) or Mpix.
If I want a bunch of normal 4x6's, Ofoto is good and cheap. Around 25 cents each with USPS shipping for ~$1.50. Never had a problem with quality, although USPS can get a bit rough with 8x10's.
If I want a batch with a nice 'kick' to it, I use Mpix and the Metallic paper they offer. Excellent results every time. It never fails to impress someone when they look at the prints. The traditional E-Surface paper is also very good too. For 4x6, figure around 59 cents a print with metallic paper or 29 cents a pic with the standard E-surface paper, $4.95 to ship via USPS.
Thats the only two I can really comment on, since they are the only ones I used so far. |

| I have mentioned Costco's service in other posts.. it is on par with Wal-Mart and Sam's Club.. it pretty much sucks... guess it would be OK for the scrapbooker with nothing special to print. It is far from anywhere near the best...lol.
You want some of the best then you need to stick with Mpix, Millers, WHCC, Winkflash, and there are a few others specifically for Pros and Studios only that require bulk orders of each print. The ones just listed give professional quality but offer being able to get single prints of one size of one file instead of having to buy 5-10 of each file and size..
Winkflash is one of the cheapest and produces some of the best on nice Fuji Crystal Archive Paper. Mpix uses Kodak E-Surface & E-Metallic which is top notch. WHCC uses Fuji CA and also offers Kodak E-Metallic. -- I spent a $3300 on a dSLR and lens to take good pics but people with cheaper stuff take better pics... How!? |
