| New Cat 5.7 drivers *Performance Increase*
Today ATI released version 5.7 of its Catalyst display drivers, boasting very large performance increases in a wide array of products. We'll see from future analysis if these claims are warranted.
Performance Increases
* 5-15% gains in 3DMark05 on some products
* 20-60% gain in Far Cry Regulator across multiple settings
* 25-60% gains in Half-Life 2 at 1600x1200 4xAA 8xAF
* 40-60% gains in UT2004 at 1600x1200 6xAA 16xAF
* 50-100% improvement in Comanche4 at 1600x1200 6xAA 16xAF
* 50-200% gains in certain ShaderMark tests at high resolution
Game Fixes
* Flight Sim 2004: Launching the application under Windows XP and enabling Anisotropic Filtering (AF) within the Catalyst™ Control Center no longer results in the AF functionality not being enabled within the game
* Trackmania Sunrise: Playing the game under Windows XP no longer results in the operating system failing to respond when attempting to exit the game after leaving the PC idle for an extended period of time
* Warcraft III: Playing the game under Windows XP no longer results in display corruption being noticed when rotating the display 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

Pretty Nice !!
Highest scores ever on 3DMark05 with ATI Radeon 9800 Non-Pro...
Don't laugh - got 2276 with my P4 2.6, 1 GB Ram and 9800 Non-Pro. In past, I was getting below 2150..
My system runs CSS great and BF2 pretty well, so don't flame me. All you gamers with X800 series

Hey I just went to the ATI site to download this driver and seen 'CATALYST Uninstaller' utility listed. Is DriverCleaner still recommened or this new ATI utility? |

Thanks, put them on this morning.
I play UT 2004 on a Dell 2005 20.1" widescreen at 1680x1050 on the desktop and in game.
Game looks good, but it did with the previous drivers too.

first of all i would like to say that i like this forum. and now on topic, whell i instaled new drivers and i was suprisied that my pc turn off monitor every time when i want to see system (or any other) properties does anyone know why is that. i return drivers to 5.5 version and everything was OK. and also with omegadrivers everything is OK. |

KOTOR is still borked on these.
ATI's CCC still consumes memory like photoshop.
ATI won't let me turn off ATI AI cheats without using CCC. CCC still requires ATI Smart and Hotkey poller services when I don't use either of these.
I'll pass. |

I get constant WoW VPU errors when using 5.7 on my secondary machine. Had to roll back to Omega drivers that didnt use 5.7 at its core |
