| reply to JmanB all of the winxp high priority updates downloaded and installed successfully.
a reboot was required, and things were a little funky after one restart (volume control in systray would not close, netscape would not open, etc), so i rebooted a second time
and everything is smooth from that point forward -- look out kid they keep it all hid |

| reply to JmanB I don't like being treated like I am a potential thief. I had to go drag out the Word 2002 CD from my Works Suite 2003 in order to complete the install of 903672. Other than that irritation, everything went fine. My TechNet bulletins sure came late in email today. I just got them. -- Around 2005 a sudden spark will catalyze a Crisis mood. | reply to JmanB That was so weird. Windows 2000 got the updates under custom and required reboot Windows XP got the updates from Windows Update express and required reboot Windows XP Pro 1 - got the updates from Windows Update Express no reboot Windows XP Pro 2 - could not get the updates from Windows Update and had to get them from the links in the security bulletin no reboot. Four machines - four stories I just love consistency. -- TD ECO |

join:2005-06-16 Omaha, NE | reply to JmanB Hmm, I had to visit MS Update twice to get the updates to show (XP SP2). But both installed w/ no problems upon second visit. BTW, is it worthwhile to DL the malicious code removal tool as well, or is that mostly bloat? |
