Of course, out here in Bryn Mawr, PA.
Not happy, especially being a new customer with my two landline numbers in porting process to SR. |

| reply to mph300 If the service is down, can SR at least route the incoming calls to voicemail? They told me their commitment was after ONE HOUR - but I still get dead air when I call my home line.
How about we put together the list of the top 20 things to 'build it better' - I am rooting for SR to be successful.
Did anyone already give them a list? |

| reply to mph300 Phone service is down here in Texas. They are slow with communicating this problem to thier customers.
And why would they be updating thier website at the same time they are having this broad network outage? This would be the very place customers go to get latest information when they are not answering thier 800 number.
Perhaps they've been hacked? |

| reply to marblehills these outages are not random events like when a tree falls on a POTS line - they are rebooting their software and doing mantenance. Now, they chose to do that in midday during their normal business hours instead of staying up to do it when it is more conveniant for their customers - I think that's why many people ar eunhappy right now. |

| reply to marblehills well all the items on the top20 list would be
need more uptime need more uptime . . . . . . need more uptime
boy this company is doing the same mistake over and over again, they keep on doing these ENHANCEMENTS during the middle of the day. growing pains.... maybe |

| i think everyone is confusing the message on the website for what is happening with the service outage.
the web site says that they are doing improvements on the web site. this is likely just a placeholder page that they put up during a crisis. since the main page of the site is mostly about signing up new users, they are probably turning that off til they can get the regular VOIP service back up because the new customers create an additional drain on their customer service and engineering people. also existing customers trying to access voicemail and call logs may be pulling people away from fixing the outage. when I was on online chat with SR's Joshua more than an hour ago, he said that there was a big outage (not due to enhancements)
What SR should do is have a more realistic message on their home page that says that they are experiencing service outages and that they are working on it. Also when you call their customer service phone number, it should say the same.
Their page is puting out misinformation that is confusing everyone. -- Danieli Consulting LLC, Strategy and Brandinghttp://kdanieli.com |

| reply to mph300 I think the website msg is some default page that they do use for maintenance, but is also setup as default when the page is overloaded with traffic (not a very good idea on their part, if true). If the web page msg is the only thing you guys are going on with the maintenance theory, then I don't buy it. Now if that is what they are saying on the phone (for those who have gotten through), then nevermind.. |

| reply to koam I had made a similar suggestion to sunrocket about sending alerts via email, cellphone SMS or IM that whenever they are doing upgrades or have outages that they notify the customer what they are upto.
But SR needs to add the functionality of CONDITIONAL call forwarding in case of an outage.(don't know how it will work in the situations like these however), also the VM should still work during an outage. |

We all have our backup lines, right?
Im in no way condoning SR method of upgrades, but...
If SunRocket chose to do these maintenance upgrades during the night, dont you think that the price the customer pays would be more? I thought there was a premium for working after the regular 8-5 work day. Correct me if im wrong.
Many SR customers are paying 16.58 a month. How much do you think that really buys in terms of manhours? If you call a tech support and stay on the line for a half hour. Cha-ching....$5-10 bucks an hour rate.
We've all signed up for the good - as well as the bad. If you dont like it, pay more and go elsewhere. There are over 1000 voip providers out there.
Thanks for reading.........
off the soapbox now.

| reply to mph300 Yes meeeee! I have a ready light and my wan and lan lights are green but the voice light isn't on. I just came home to find out it is out. My husband picked up the phone to make a call and got a busy signal but no dial tone and we can't make calls. When I try to dial without the dial tone I get a busy signal.....very weird indeed. I checked thier site and they are updating it at present and it says your service will not be affecting....yeah right. Sorry for the rant but you asked, lol. -- Di |
