$30.00 deals

I was told that these deals are for new subscribers only... have any existing customers been able to get the $30.00 deal, and if so, how?

It would be great to treat loyal customers to that nice $180.00 price break...

I live right behind my local Insight office and one day a guy came to my door hawking the $30.00 deal.

I was a little pissed that he was there considering I already have 2 digital cable boxes,2 movie channels, and Insightbb already.

I just called them and told them I was upset about the door to door deal and they hooked me up for a year:)

You're lucky... I've been getting postcards in the mail for awhile so I finally called them and they refused to give me the deal unless I canceled my service for 3 months and then renewed.

It's so silly to treat someone that has been a loyal customer for 8 years this way, but I guess that's business.

I just signed up for the new promotion, although we only had very basic cable and InsightBB Plus. I just went to my local office and they were able to put it on there somehow.

It's been mentioned in this forum - that current customer deals are in the works. As far as I'm aware no Insight serviced areas have seen any such deals released.

"Worked on" pfft... sure they are. Once the customers are customers, they get the shaft.

I'm not as negative on this as you. But I do agree the proof is in the pudding so to speak. And we have yet to see any customer appreciation / loyalty programs or new discounts offered to long time customers.

I got so tired of hearing their commercials on TV about the $30 deal so I called them 3 times in a row. 1st time I was told it's not for existing customers. I told them I had been a broadband customer for 3 years. She said you probably got a special when you signed up. I said no I did not and I've been paying $44.95 for 3 years. She said well I'm sorry but the promotion is for new customers. And I said so you don't care about existing customers. She said they were working on a "deal" for existing customers. I said okie dokie and hung up.

I called right back and got a different rep. I asked for the same deal and was told the same thing. However, this rep was a little more concerned. She told me I might be able to get the deal if I added something such as a digital cable box for $5 per month. She put me on hold while she asked her supervisor. In a while we were disconnected. I figured they did that on purpose.

So I called right back and got a different rep again. I explained it all to her and told her the name of the rep I was talking to before the disconnection. So she put me on hold and consulted with the last rep I was talking to. She came back and said if I would add anything they would give me the $30 deal. It just so happened that we were cancelling Dish Network. So I said I'd like to get classic cable back (an upgrade from basic cable). She said sure. So I got the $30 deal for at least 1 year.

What she did was cancel my existing insightbb and signed it back up as the promo. All my emails stayed the same though. After that I couldn't connect so I called tech support and he got it fixed in no time.

BTW, it has been 6 weeks and I've heard of no promo for existing customers. They're just buying time until the promo ends whenever that will be.

Just an FYI again for people wanting this new "deal". Most of us with digital cable are only paying $34.95 for our internet service right now. That is with the $10 discount. That is our current promotion that lasts for as long as we stay on it or want it to last. For new customers, and if you somehow manage to get the $30 deal, it isn't as good as it sounds. I was told by a rep that it is only for the first year, which I think we all know. They key is, after that first year. You won't get your $34.95 price again. After your year of the $30 price runs out you will go to the regular $44.95 and thats even if you have digital cable. You won't get the $10 discount, that's an old promotion. Think about it before you do it. I'd rather pay my $34.95 forever rather then save $5 for a year and then have it go up $10 higher then what I am paying now after that.

$34.95 forever? Nothing's forever. When I first got @Home broadband it was only $29.95. When Insight took over existing customers stayed at that price but were later raised to $34.95. I canceled because of the hike. A few months later I signed back up and was faced with $44.95. Eventually they will do away with the $10 digital discount and drop the rate for everybody to $34.95.

You're right... it's possible. And I know nothing is forever. Basically the rep explained it to me that my deal would last as long as I stayed on the plan. It doesn't expire after a year like the other.

When they first started advertising it, I called about it and they gave it to me for $30 without any hassle.

no digital/modem packaging deal after the year... doubtful, even if you were told that by a rep,, I really truly highly doubt that.

I've been wondering what they will say if I was willing to cancel and go to the SBC 3000 down service for $24.95. It's 75% of the speed for only 56% of the price.

First off, though, I have to figure out why I hven't had any service since yesterday afternoon in Fishers, IN. I get the online light, but no activity.

You may doubt it but I'd say it's true. That was the old promotion that isn't available anymore. New customers can't get that deal. They only get the new deal. After the first year their deal runs out. Our old promotion goes for as long as we stay on the plan. It makes sense to me.
