quote:
Insight will market on quality of service instead of price, said spokeswoman Sandra Colony. "I think that people understand that you get what you pay for. Cable modem service ... is just a faster, more reliable, higher-caliber service."

And customers counting on $14.95 a month broadband to last "are going to be disappointed," said Colony, who doesn't think that price matches "financial operational realities."
Now that made me laugh! faster? higher caliber of service? lol Do they ever read these boards? lol Insight is a joke, and when you do not have competition why should you have to lower your prices. SBC and DSL with their limits on the distance from the CO will never be considered a competitor to me. If another cable company were competiting then I would see that, but it isnt.

END OF RANT

if these speeds of 500/78 keep going on, I'll definitely get SBC DSL.

Tech support of course says it's my pc or my router. I hooked it up direct and got 16/35. Go figure. Everything was fine last night.

Insight is hardly a "joke". The vast majority of customers routinely get excellent uptime, 4Mbps connections for $30-$45 a month. A few people who post here do complain of localized problems. Pop over to the other ISP forums and you'll find the same thing. For the most part, Insight provides a premium connection for a good price.

Yes, but it's the localized problems that are the problem.

I'm not knocking Insight as a whole. When it works, it works great. But lately, they seem to be having a lot of router issues in this area and have yet to adequately fix them.

Or are you just listening to someone else, If there were such problems then it would be more then just the few people the love to rant and rav.......if insight is so bad or insight is a monopoly then to somewhere else............... I love the response lol If you do not like it go somewhere else. Well pal there is nothing else, so I am STUCK! If I could get something else I would. TRUST ME! I have already tried with DSL but I was too far for it to stay stable.

Dial up, lol are you some kind of comedian?

Typical troll response.

YES. I have been on the phone with techs and there ARE issues in this area. Also, any idiot with a traceroute program can see the problems.

Dialup isn't broadband, contrary to what NetZero ads claim. DSL isn't an option for me. Now, please scamper back under your bridge.

Thanks!

KlownIN ? does the IN in your handle stand for INsight ? This is a trollish/employee like comment...

And please not another Insight fanboy... Did they promise you a raise for some praise on the forums?

I am going to have to sprinkle some patented "Troll begone"...and say stick to your installs...

Or maybe it's IN for indiana...

But in any case, dialup is never an option after someone has tasted broadband. Fast internet, like any other good drug, is expensive and addictive.

Looks like I can get speakeasy without having to have an SBC line. Insight may be losing my business after telling me that my 600/350 speeds are because "you must have spyware on your system" instead of the 40% packet loss on their Noblesville router. Logic would tell you if I had spyware, my upstream would be suffering.. not the downstream. Packet Sniffers all say little to no internet activity (I have Trillian and Opera running atm.)

AdAware, Spybot, MS Anti-Spyware, and Hijack this all say every system in the house is squeaky clean. (And yes I've tried direct connect to one PC, too.)

The argument that "superior customer service" will keep customers is the biggest load of cheese I've ever seen/heard.

LOL...like I said, something only an employee would know ;) ...since when does a user come here and post only in the Insightbb forum??

Do you think people are stupid? Your purpose here wreaks of Insight!

Stick to tackling bad Insight install's and user's with slow/no speeds and don't troll pro-insight post's propaganda in our forum's please...

No gripes from me about Insight besides more speed. But everyone here would like to have more speed. My connection has been rock solid and Im dead serious when I say my connection has been up and no down time for almost two years...minus maintenence..stuff like that. Can't complain about price all that much, because of the no down time, it's been worth it.
