there are pros and cons to all issues like this.. a bold or ridiculous move like this for SBC (depending on how you view it), will effect many, including consumer and investors and SBC itself. my perspective as the general public is as follows: 1) SBC's decision to drag cable customers ATM is not a bad step to take for what they can for now. As the portion of a customer switching over, hooked by a deep promotion like this, will be less resistance to change again should their SBC's CUSTOMER SERVICE ever improves. 2) like with all decisions, there are always certain risk involves. it's the matter of which decision involves more risks that the company assess. SBC took a gamble here and from what i can see lots of heads are already turning so if within a 3 mo period SBC sees a substantial addition to it's subscriber, then investor will be worry-free and that is what i think the outcome would be. as more moving the deals and pushing the belly buttons of the cable giants.. nah.. i don't think it's fast.. i think it's perfect after the recent cable ruling.. if we hold back any longer we'll be like our ranking in the DSL world.. fall on top of our heels. |
