Your comments are so true "SBC is digging in deep and doing a lot WAY too fast." They are going to take a hit in profits for the quarter and hope to retain these customers over time. That's the key - the large telcos and cablecos realize that snaring and retaining is the root to true profits. Why they feel they need to take such drastic measures at this time is beyond me ???

What?
Customer service my experience with sbc has been hellish.
Customer service my experience with ool has been stellar.

Billing - SBC (double bill, charge for services not ordered, uncontrolled third party billing.)

Billing - OOL ( Never had an issue ).

What's the price after the free three months? And what if you only have cable internet and have satellite already?

cash flow issues.

They (telco) have an inferior product no matter how they hype it. Compared to OOL's speed it's complete garbage!
Compare it to anything in SBC but speed and OOL is complete garbage.

Your right fiberguy.

On the heels of the FCC decision..

It's evident that they need more market share and here (CT) they think they can get people to switch from OOL to SBC. At least in my area.. I've know 2 people that switched from OOL to SBC but it was because of cash flow issues.

SBC is truly going all out. I hope management knows what they are doing.....
Sorry, but this sounds like a sign of weakness.

I know Comcast has a good offer for dish customers, and does have some specials for new customers, but SBC is digging in deep and doing a lot WAY too fast.

To some customers, this may sound like a great deal, but to a lot of other consumers and investors alike, this would look like desperation in my opinion.
