ONDEMAND can not replace a full channel. It will always be an extra feature.
You say that with such certainty. I can see a time when a linear channel is supplanted by a VOD channel. You could have the same content, It would just be spaced out and ready to view as soon as the viewer wants.

Well we just lost 23 premium movie channels here in Rockville, MD. Almost all "west" versions of premium channels were taken away earlier this month. That means I went from 60+ movie channels to about 40 channels for the exact same price. Comcast used the on demand system to cover this loss. They said "Well you still have those channels (east coast version) and can get the missing stuff with on demand" I pointed out that I liked the west coast versions since I work late and thus could get to see 8pm movies at 11Pm. I also mentioned that many programs never make it to on demand. They babbled on but the point was "Tough. Enjoy the 60% price increased for premium movie channels."

You will never watch anything new... what about all the joys of channel fliping to see whats on..

So you still pay the same amount? That's really trifling. They need to lower your price immediatly.
