Can someone explain why PCs have green motherboards? Couldn't they make it some other colour, I know my ATI video card is red which sure looks better than green. I think the inside of PCs would look a lot better if the motherboard was a dark grey or even a dark blue.

Also, Apple used to color code motherboards to symbolize what part of the development cycle they're in... I don't know if they do this anymore.

I like things that are built to an engineering goal not a price point. When I buy Apple I get a product that someone gave a shit about, the developer systems shown in the pics look the opposite. |

If you've ever seen a really cheap circuit board that is brown like the color of cardboard, that's one where no soldermask was used. Other colors are possible, as you've noticed.
