| reply to bobbyzee Re: [X] Intel Mac pictures
said by bobbyzee :Can someone explain why PCs have green motherboards? Couldn't they make it some other colour, I know my ATI video card is red which sure looks better than green. I think the inside of PCs would look a lot better if the motherboard was a dark grey or even a dark blue. No wonder Apple wants these back after developers have finished with them they look ugly! The motherboard in my PC (homebuilt) is red. -- They sell us lies - But we will not be deceived. They sell us sides - But we will not be divided. They sell us wars - But we will not be murdered. @pacbell.n | Yeah, if you go to Newegg and look at their selection for Intel CPU's, 15 of 17 motherboard vendors offer colors other than green. |

obviously they will make the final product look good and theyre not gonna slap a tiny motherboard in a gigantic G5 case and put it on the market..it will all work out -- Visit my - somewhat less than awesome website at thewiz.mine.nu:1984 |

| reply to sporkme These are "test mules", people! They are not products and are not meant to be pretty. They are what the Apple guys could slap together for the developers to work with! What they look like is irrelevant!
The only surprise for me is that Apple didn't weld the cases shut as they did in the past. |

| Maybe Johnny or Bobrk can veryify this.
If I recall correctly, the first green motherboard I saw was inside a box running Win3x. When I commented about the green color, the installer said something about builders knowing the architecture of the motherboard by its color. i still don't' know if the statement was true or not - but it sounded good to someone who never saw the inside of a PC before, . |

@pacbell.n | reply to sporkme Not sure about the architecture reason, but it seems like Intel has always used green. |

BTW, I was just "insanely curious" as to what the dev boxes would look like inside. I think we can safely assume that the "G6" or whatever it will be called will bear no resemblance to this monstrosity. |
