Intel Inside Logos on Mac? Also, It looks like the cinema display doesnt work with Windows on a Mac, but works with Windows just fine on a normal PC. Maybe its just that monitor, if we would use a different monitor, I guess dualbooting Windows and MacOS wont be bad.
Did you even read the article? It says they couldn't achieve above 800x600 because Windows didn't have drivers for the wacky video card in the machine.

Holy crap, I can't believe some people think its important to have different colored mobos, or nicely arranged mobos. It looks the way it is because engineers thought it was the most efficient setup, not because they thought it looked nice. Its a mobo for heavens sake! When I look at parts for my next pc, I don't see color or how it looks, I look for function.

It's the crappy video card they put into the machine. The Windows OS has not idea what is it.

I picked up a Magic 8-Ball the other day and it said 'Outlook not so good'. I said 'Sure, but Microsoft still ships it.'

At the least, they'll probably keep the Powerbook... since they started using that well before the PPC existed.

If they use the new Intel processors in it, I'm betting on P5 or something along those lines.
nah, they won't use that since intel has P4 branded chips, would be too confusing for customers and intel probably wouldn't go along anyway

I think maybe they will come up with something new and move away from the "G" series. And are they even going to call them powermacs and powerbooks anymore, since they won't be powerpc based, we shall see. Very possible this will turn into an all new generation of apple designs.

Mine doesn't. If I remove the plastic shield though, the fans go full rev, but I think that's outside of the operating system's control.

BTW, I was just "insanely curious" as to what the dev boxes would look like inside. I think we can safely assume that the "G6" or whatever it will be called will bear no resemblance to this monstrosity.
i would imagine it would go back down to G3/G4 tower proportions

The only surprise for me is that Apple didn't weld the cases shut as they did in the past.
I think its because of the feature that if you remove the side, the computer goes to sleep. Apple would like to make this feature available for developers who need to use that in their software.
it goes to sleep when you take the side off? how does it know when youve done that?
Sensor in the case latch? That kind of technology has been around for years in servers, so it can alert you if someone physically accesses the inside.

It only shows a system board with an intel chip on a G5 case....

What kind of proof is that...?
It matches the reports from the WWDC. So with actual machines in the hands of developers, it's easier to show the real one than to make a fake one.

Maybe they'll make a gigantic motherboard to fit in there.

Not sure about the architecture reason, but it seems like Intel has always used green.
