Interesting stuff in there, they note that the intel os-x disc does not boot on a normal PC.
Another thing noted is that CodeWeavers, who make "Crossover Office" for *nix and support the WINE project announced they will be making an OS-X/intel version of their product. That means running Windows apps within Aqua - no virtual machine to start up.

| Can someone explain why PCs have green motherboards? Couldn't they make it some other colour, I know my ATI video card is red which sure looks better than green. I think the inside of PCs would look a lot better if the motherboard was a dark grey or even a dark blue. No wonder Apple wants these back after developers have finished with them they look ugly! | |

How often do you really look at your motherboard that you care what color it is?
Also, Apple used to color code motherboards to symbolize what part of the development cycle they're in... I don't know if they do this anymore. -- Rest in Peace Hunter S Thompson."There he goes. I like things that are built to an engineering goal not a price point. When I buy Apple I get a product that someone gave a shit about, the developer systems shown in the pics look the opposite.

If I recall correctly, the first green motherboard I saw was inside a box running Win3x. When I commented about the green color, the installer said something about builders knowing the architecture of the motherboard by its color. i still don't' know if the statement was true or not - but it sounded good to someone who never saw the inside of a PC before, .

BTW, I was just "insanely curious" as to what the dev boxes would look like inside. I think we can safely assume that the "G6" or whatever it will be called will bear no resemblance to this monstrosity.

I think maybe they will come up with something new and move away from the "G" series. And are they even going to call them powermacs and powerbooks anymore, since they won't be powerpc based, we shall see. Very possible this will turn into an all new generation of apple designs. -- I support the RIAA

| Holy crap, I can't believe some people think its important to have different colored mobos, or nicely arranged mobos. It looks the way it is because engineers thought it was the most efficient setup, not because they thought it looked nice. Its a mobo for heavens sake! When I look at parts for my next pc, I don't see color or how it looks, I look for function. | |
