finally

Its about time they get this running. I've been waiting for it for a long time, since I have no broadband options. Although I'm not quite in either of these 2 towns, I'm about 10 miles out of each of them. I've emailed consumers and they said that it should be available to alot of people by 2006

I wouldn't count on that if I were you. The test roll outs so far have all been dismal failures because of inteference issues, among other things. Seems none of the equipment suppliers so far are capable of providing equipment that meets FCC guidelines for incidental radiators. Bottom line: BPL's radiated interference is going to be it's death knell. It simply cannot and will not be tolerated in the end.

On top of this, Congress is starting to climb the FCC's ass about BPL, and, since Michael powell is gone, the new FCC chairman is apparently amenable to rectifying the FCC's mistake.

Just when you thought all was lost...

a showcase for advanced broadband technology deployments

Tell me how can BPL be considered advanced technology. More money down the tube.
