| Where's Packet8 faxing and caller-ID/w name??
I'm pretty damn sick and tired of the B.S.
They've been saying both of these features are "coming soon" for months, if not years now.
I thought Packet8 owns their own technology? So, why does it take them 3 X as long to implement simple features which everyone else seems to have?
Incompetence? |

| It's been years...not months. It's a promise which seems to be only meant to get customers, without ever having to actually deliver on those promises. Fax is hit and miss with most every VoIP provider, but CID /w name seems like it should have happened by now. |

| reply to floshcannon Doesn't really surprise me.
These guys have been doing nothing but promising for as long as I've been a shareholder, and they haven't delivered anything.
I strongly suggest if you are shareholders, vote no for the Board Members on the proxy. |

Incompetence? More likely they are understaffed in qualified engineers who can devote time to developing their platform rather than troubleshooting and technical support. -- "Don't steal. | reply to floshcannon Packet8 has lost my support. They've become completely stagnant in a rapid environment. They've got some reliability, but features are also an advantage.
Are there any better (more reliable and feature-rich) Level3 options out there? My porting options are limited to Level3 only (I believe 513-268-xxxx).
It's a shame, I was gung-ho on Packet8 last year. Has P8Support been around lately? I haven't seen him...
Oh well - I hope they still monitor these forums.
I'm surprised Laserjobs hasn't chimed in yet... I know he hates Packet8... wait - he hates all voip providers... but he LOVES Burt Reynolds! |

Im in the same boat as you when it comes to requiring level3. I have been with P8 for 6 months and have been unhappy with all aspects of them. I have found a new provider caled bbtelsys which also has my call center. It's possible they may have yours aswell. |

| reply to floshcannon I just went Nuvio, and they use Level 3. I am waiting on my number to port from Packet 8 to Nuvio. While I was somewhate satisfied with them, like you, I was tired of waiting on new features.
Nuvio Has CID/ Name, they have 7 and 10 digit dialing (depends if your in an area that has an area code overlay). Also the Voice Quality and stabiity far exceeds Packet 8.
Last night I was on the phone for over an hour with my mother Long Distance. With P8 I would at least had 1 or 2 fade outs during that time...it didn't happen. The voice quality was as good as if not better than a regular land line (it been so long since I've regularly used a land line) My P8 line is more like talking on a cell. -- --P.B.Formerly BSFA "Tier 2" tech.John 3:16 |
