Re: $1300 install

This is the reply from insight.
Thank you for your sales inquiry. Your home must reside within 125 feet of an existing cable tap in order to be serviceable. If your home exceeds this requirement and you would like to have our service, you can also pay for the cost of construction to have our cable built closer to your home.

300' is 'technically' Insights official longest length for drop cable. After that length they use feeder (hardline). If you truly have a dt/tap 320' from your electric meter on the side of your house RG-11 could be used. There is a possibility (a good possibility) that you would need a forward/return drop ampilifier installed in your house too. The charge for this amp should be under $100. I do not know much about the louisville system, but if you don't find any head way by talking to the install supervisor, and again, you know for sure that there is a tap to plug in to 320' from your electric meter at your house, you could by a spool of RG11, run it yourself, then call for the install.
the $1200 would have to be a charge to run feeder to your house. You could probably get them to agree to running it on rg11, maybe w/ some sort of 'no guarantees' type deal. I dunno... good luck.
