Site survey Radio

I'm looking for a good site survey radio. The Demarc radios I use for CPEs, IMHO, don't work the way I like for site surveys.

Requirements (if it does not have them all, suggest anyway)
-fast reboots
-fast association with ssid of choice (so I can ping gateway and make sure I'll have solid connection)
-reliable signal strength indicaters
-poe
-durable (it will get beat up, in/out back of truck)

Once I have a good SS radio learned, I'll convert and calculate to know which Demarc radio to use.
Any ideas? I'd like someone to recommend one that he or she uses, so I can pick your brain about the signal strength. Like, if the signal is -75 or better, it will work. Things like that.

Thanks
William

I use smartBridges airBridge Total.

I have not used that many radios, but I'll second Smartbridges. They give you link quality and noise readings. We do not use SB anymore, but I do miss their site surevey qualities.

I use a sB Outdoor and a grid antenna for survey. Am going away from them for CPE, but they meet most of your criteria. Maybe not the most accurate readings, but consistant, so with some use you can know what you are getting.

So, you are not going to use them as CPE. Do you continue to use them for site surveys or are you moving to a "better" solution?

I use Demarc RWVs for APs.

How is the compatibility?

I will continue to use the sB for site survey. I will deploy the ones I have left for CPE where it looks like they will work better. Deliberant is working will with my sB APs and the price point is very good.

I can not answer about the Demarc's, do not have any.

I think SB radios are 65mw where Deliberants are 250mw. The normal recomendation is to use the same for CPE's as site surveys.

I'd like one more powerful than 65 mw.

I strongly recommend using the same radio to test with as your CPE. There are enough different factors that it's more than just "translating" the results in to which CPE radio works well.

Besides, the criteria listed is what I would want for my CPE radio as well.
