HOWEVER, if you don't have good LOS, then a lower gain antenna with more power seems to work a little better. It seems the lower gain antenna "gathers" the reflected signals better, but it needs all the power and receive sensitivity it can get in this situation.

In about 10 months I've been reading and posting on this forum it's first time that I read something that could apply to my case and situation. In my base station I'm using a 2 watt amplifier. So far it's been working pretty good for me.
