This does exactly Jack for us longsuffering Verizon users. Then again, this is probably a PPPoE deal. I (Heart) my Static IPs...;) -- Linux. The choice of a GNU generation. Now available in several CPU flavors! |

"Just called SBC to get re-rated. It's a done deal, new 1 yr. term starting June 8 but now at 14.95 a month. Easy & Painless.
Thanks SBC"

| reply to dslXtreme Tried to re-rate yesterday, and got the runaround. I was told that since I was a current customer, I couldn't re-rate at $14.95. I was told that I had to do it online. Then when I told him I tried to do that, but the SBC website told me to call their customer service. Then I was told that it's only for new customers. The best Philip from SBC would do for me was $29.95 for 1 year, if I agreed to a $48.95 calling plan. Hung up on him and signed up for DSLExtreme. |

We deal with contracts, you deal with bandwidth caps. We can choose to pay a little more per month and not have a contract, do you have that option when it comes to caps? |

************ My call to DSLx for re-rating: "Sorry, no" SBC wouldn't even re-rate me to the $19.95 per month promotional price. My understanding is that I would have to call their retention department and perform some song and dance routine about jumping to Comcast; possibly DSLX if by switching from SBC Yahoo! DSL Service I was qualified for any new customer price plans.
I didn't feel good about lying to retention... -- Norman ~A deam, dream, no dream ~Voices of the night go across the forest ~A dream, dream, no dream ~Good night my good child |

The no contract price is $49.95 per month. The contract isn't a bad deal when it results in a lower price. Part of the contract issue may be a government intervention. SBC is covered by the California Public Utilities Commission. -- Norman ~A deam, dream, no dream ~Voices of the night go across the forest ~A dream, dream, no dream ~Good night my good child |
