| DSLX hasn't budged on pricing plans such as the 3000/768 for $29.95/month, so I doubt they will make any changes here either. That said, I still think DSLX is a better value for what I use it for anyways. -- »www.ckt.com |

Thanks SBC"

| reply to blacksurfer OK I am totally confused, what is the difference in power user and minimal web user, aside from the obvious. I cant by any means call myself a minimal user, if I was I wouldn't be looking into dsl would I? And what are static VS dynamic IPs. I wonder if I could even set it up, what happens if I have problems as don't know what's involved in splitting and such... |

| Power users would probably want a static IP so they can host a game, ftp or webserver. Minimal users will just surf the web, download files, etc.
A static IP is a numeric number that will be assinged to you that never changes: great for VPN connections or hosting a server. Dynamic IP will change, but you won't even notice it, you'll just connect to the web and surf.
For most people, the dynamic IP is all they need. |

| reply to blacksurfer The competition for your communication $$$ is gonna REALLY heat up over the next 12mos -> 24mos. SBC is yet to turn on those 144 AT&T designed video servers already in place and ready to go.
For the record, the instant that DSLx/SBC offers a combo DSL based Internet/Television service I will be first in line to sign up.
Take note DSLx. I pay $50/mo for Time Warner Cable service. Of the 80+ stations I get I need only maybe 12. If you offered TV over DSL, even if it was not as good as my present cable service and even if it cost more then the $50/mo I am presently paying, I would switch in a heart beat. I have no use for the HighDefinition junk or the 7,234,234 other dribble channels that TW tells me I need.
