Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4 finally arrived!

April showers bring May flowers - Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4 finally arrived! [link] 31. May 2005
It takes us a long time to get satisfied, but we've finally reached the point where we are ready to release version 1.4 of our anti-spyware solution Spybot - Search & Destroy. Here are some of the new features it offers:

First native multi-installation scanner
On PE boot CDs as well as on any system with multiple installations of Windows 2000 or later, Spybot-S&D 1.4 is able to scan the other installations as well, including the registry. From what we know, Spybot-S&D is the first anti-spyware solution that offers inactive registry scanning as a native feature.

Speed boost-ups
Spybot-S&D 1.4 should work noticably faster than 1.3 during scans. And if you still don't like to wait, you can play our easter egg while scanning.

Improved tools
We've improved the Tools section that Spybot-S&D offers in advanced mode - the process list now offers a list of open network connection per application (Windows 2000 or newer only), helping you to quickly identify which applications are local and which do use connections to the outside. Our detection mechanisms have also been updated, from detecting and cleaning services over protocol filters to the afore-mentioned scanning in inactive installations registries.

Graphics remake, and more
We've replaced the old home made icons with a bunch of great graphics provided by the guys at Yellow Icon Studio to make the user interface look smoother. But while this is highly visible on the surface, there have been more than 104 important changes underneath.

Don't forget to uninstall the old version before installing the new one, all.

As quoted from a download page:

Please uninstall previous versions before installing this one.

I've encountered a problem with 1.4 final on a WinMe PC.

I can't fully Immunize. When I try I always get:
1992 bad products already blocked, 3 additional products possible. Please Immunize.

I click Immunize and get 1995 bad products blocked with a green checkmark. After closing and re-opening the program, then clicking Immunize, the symptom repeats with:

1992 bad products already blocked, 3 additional products possible. Please Immunize.

I've already posted over at Net-Integration. »forums.net-integration.net/index···ic=31119

I've got version 1.3, and I can't find these items. Anyone know where they are:
1. Undo immunization
2. If SDHelper and TeaTimer are enabled, deactivate them first.
I can find 'Immunization' but I don't see any way to undo it?
???

This is strange---I'm not seeing any difference in scan times by using the various scan priority settings. I ran Spybot with different priorities and recorded the time with a stopwatch. I made two runs with each setting and closed the program after each run. Here are my scan times in seconds:
Normal (suggested) = 65, 64
Higher = 64, 63
Highest = 63, 63
Time Critical (blocks everything else) = 63, 63

I'm not seeing much difference here, so why all the different settings? After getting those results, I ran a scan at the "Lowest" setting and it took 64 seconds!

Does anyone get quicker scan times with the faster settings?

Hi I got the new version the day it came out and have found one issue with it I was wondering if anyone else has this and how to fix it. When Tea Timer pops up with a new change the pop up box shows what the change is but the buttons for accept or reject are just barely visible you can not actually read what is on the button. Luckily I remembered that the accept was the one on the left. The very top white part of the button shows but that is all. Just barely enough of it is showing to be able to click it. The check box for remember this is fine and can be checked. This only happened after the install of 1.4 the box was fine and the buttons showed fine on the previous version. So far every single time it has popped up it is this way.
IT seems like the box is too small for everything to fit in properly. I did not see a way to enlarge the box to make it all fit the way it should.

Edit: I just went to the forums on the spybot site and see I am not the only one asking about this problem question there has been answered saying it is a known bug and is being worked on. I did try to register for that forum but it continues to fail giving an error message.
