| China Pride
There was a documentary on Discovery Channel about Hackers. The chinese hackers openly talk about hacking Japanese and US sites without fear of arrest. Given the Governments abilities to control their Internet it seems that the Chinese Government allows this to happen. The recent anti-japanese protests - 1000's were allowed to protest. But when you try to group and rally on the street you are thrown in jail for 30 years. They say that the japs have not done enough to calm relations regarding the textbooks, You know what I would tell them? I'd tell them to mind their business, its our "internal affairs" as the chinese have so often used when the US tries to raise human rights or Taiwan issues. Anyway enough said on that subject.
China is going through a phase of promoting National Pride (as a result of great econmic growth) amongst its citizens. They are brainwashed to think that all things Chinese is good and everything else is less. IMO the Communist government are clever, they see that by making and keeping their citizens rich, they will always be seen as a good and always accepted by its citizens.
The ppl dont mind that their internet is being striped because they believe the Government is doing it for the good.
IMO as long as its citizens keep rolling in the money we wont see an uprising as so many has predicted |

It is NOT brainwashing. It's cultural tradition. The real name of China is Chung Kuo, the "Middle Kingdom". It was called that because it was viewed as the center of the world by its inhabitants. In many ways, it still is.
We are simply barbarians. Anyone who is not Chinese is a barbarian. It doesn't matter if a barbarian is smarter or produces better items or has more power for a time. They are still barbarians - useful, perhaps, but nothing more.
The Chinese have no interest in conquering people or expanding any more than is convienent. They're not worried about our traditions of "democracy" or "freedom". After all, China will eventually win...even if it takes thousands of years. Eventually, everyone will be Chinese. All they need to do is wait.
That is the Chinese mindset. It has been ever since the first dynasty. |
