What's it do?

EDIT: Ok, I just installed it. It doesn't seem to do anything obvious, maybe some backend stuff. But still no 7 digit dialing, caller id with name, etc...

Noticeable difference are the words "Upgrade Firmware" on the left side, as oppsed to what it had before.

Looks like the links changed to a blue color as well.

Great. Another "upgrade" that MAY correct faults from the last one.

No new FEATURES again. Thanks P8!!!

Anyone know if there is a way to copy the firmware off the DTA?

I tried a TFTP client but don't know the filename.

You may have gotten the update automatically. The DTA does support remote updates.

I can say it is new, as I checked the site a couple days ago, and it wasn't there.

Just installed the update as well. The first phone call I made with it sounded clearer than usual. I wonder if P8 finally rolled out g711 for voice calls w/ this firmware.

Interesting. A quick call using the golden phone on testyourvoip.com gave me an MOS score of 4.4...the same score a g711 codec gets....

I don't think the codec changed. According to my router the DTA is only using 30Kbps of outbound bandwidth during a call.

Or downgrade and test. I can't do it at the moment though.

I just tested at testyourvoip.com with both the Boston and LA servers. Both times I scored a 4.4 on Packet8 using the 13.12 firmware. I have not upgraded the firmware to see if anything improves. I recorded 0 packet loss and 89ms round trip latency to LA. Not bad...:)

Did something like http downloader option change to "Upgrade Firmware" ?
That is the only thing I see...

Long ago, firmwares away, the quality was 4.4
I wonder if it just sounds the same to the computer...

Anyone know the answer to this? Really want to be able to copy the version of firmware on the DTA that I have on there off into a file but can't figure out how I would download the firmware off the DTA.

What version do you currently have on your DTA? Maybe somebody's got that firmware in a .bin file already.
