Still capped?

Future competition for FIOS will be welcome but will Cox like Comcrap continue it's anti-consumer policies of low monthly caps with this new service?

There is no reason to believe otherwise... Its just the way that Cox operates.

That actually is a good point. Maybe some of our BBR researches could find that out for us. Maybe Verizon FIOS looks a lot better because of this.

How do you know FIOS isn't capped either?

I live in Fairfax City and I've had Cox for 2 1/2 years and I've never gotten a notice I was over my quota. According to my bandwidth meter (and so not even counting whatever my roommate does), I average about 100 gigs down and 40 up per month, and sometimes a lot more if I download a lot of DVD-R's.

We are not capped in their Hampton Roads (southeastern Virginia) market to my knowledge. Well, not yet anyway.

Have you seen anyone talk about hitting their cap? Do you see anything suggesting there is?

Why would Verizon cap their service now when they're trying to generate good PR?

Can ANYONE here ever post a comment without name calling?

Seriously, if you don't like Comcast, say so.. don't need to call them Comcrap) if you don't like Verizon, say so... but name calling only reflects on you personally and gives the opinions in these forums less validity.

It's because of posts like these that gives this place a bad name. If this is supposed to be a place to look to for information, posts like these are only counter productive to the purpose of this website. When I ask others if they have heard of this site, it's obvious they have with the sour response they give. For example, their response when asked about this site is usually no different when people here give their opinions on Comcast, Cox, SBC, etc.

Thisnk about it.

I used to tell people to come here for help; I no longer do. The site has become primarily about whining about any company that makes over some unstated monetary amount (oh goodness an unstated cap), or whining about the government not stepping in to make sure every hermit that lives in a cave at the ass end of nowhere has 100Mbps Fiber connections.

I could point out that coincidentally this all started back when the socialists disguised as democrats had their asses handed to them back in 2000; and that this is just an indication of the liberal mentality of "our way or we'll cry like babies because we don't know how to cope or come up with new ideas", but that would be inappropriate.

Oh boo hoo...when Comcrap get's their Cast together so I'm not suffering from 80% slowdowns, 500ms latency, monthly caps, 30% how dare I not have CATV penalties then they would have an easier time here. In the meantime they are exactly that...crap.

My point has been taken... and question answered.

NO... people here can't post with out name calling.

oliphant, why don't you do the right thing for yourself and your health and get rid of Comcast since they are obviously not delivering to you what you pay for. Just got done readon all your posts and it sSounds like you have some personal issues to take care of. But I am sure you will have some sort of bitch or compliaint about how bad your HMO sticks it to you as well. May I suggest Canada or possibly a good socialist country where the givernment gives hands you a life?

Combat chuck said it right on!

Cox HSI is not capped down here on the Southside. Got any proof you can post that shows you are up on the Peninsula?

Spoken like a true employee-shill of Comcrap. Sorry, not all of us are such fanboys that we give Comcrap a pass every time they deliver substandard service. Fact remains if there weren't so many customers receiving substandard service there would be no undesirable nics for them like Comcrap.

Comcrap deserves every bit of name calling they receive...and if you are so offended by that...well that's too bad, take it up with a moderator.

Nice thread crap. Yeah, I guess not having 500ms latency or receiving speeds somewhere more than 1/8 of those advertised is too much to expect and to question it is immediately whining. So be it. But I would point out that this all started when Comcast's service went downhill. I certainly didn't have problems when ATTBi ran things. Coincidentally that's when the 20% video hikes came about, 30% penalties for not wanting CATV service, sudden limits on usenet, magic caps...this has nothing to do with whining leftists, everything to do with Comcraps' increasing anti-consumer policies. I don't give a crap how much Comcrap makes so long as they deliver the service I'm paying for.

As much as you and Comcrap fanboy there whine about people dissing their provider, I would guess even more are disappointed by thread crappers turning nearly every thread into a dumbass political rant.

I'm sorry, complaining about ISP service at a website dedicated to complaining about ISP service? Simply not allowed.
