I'm in West Springfield - When uploading a file to a high performance FTP server, going at a speed of about 12-16 kilobytes a second, my whole connection will bog down and I notice slower browsing performance and sometimes even lag on AOL IM. |

| reply to nvaecare1 I have a silly question. Why can't I find this release on Cox's web site under the investor's pages for news releases? I can't find it in any Google that quotes any part of it, no pages show up except the BBR posting. It is dated two days ago, so, I would think that the investor pages would have picked it up, and any news services....this is 'hot' news for something that is going to be in effect in just 10 days or so.
Since, I possibly missed the link, would you please post a link to the original release? |

1 edit | I haven't been able to find any links (other than this site) with the press release either.
The news article has been updated, DSLR was waiting for confirmation from Cox (call was placed when the news story ran).
The move is apparently a competitive response to Fios deployment in the region. Cox public relations executive Scott Broyles confirms the shift is real. It is odd that they haven't updated their own website. If I was Cox, I'd definitely want to be advertising it.. |

| reply to nvaecare1 I use to have a butt load of problems w/ Cox when I was living at Springfield. (intersection of Rolling and the parkway) Now that I am at Alexandria (2 miles north of Ft. Belvoir), I have been getting really good speed. I know Springfield has FIOS so if you are getting horrible speed, you might wanna look into it. Right now no FIOS at my new place so I'm sticking w/ Cox for now. |

I thought I read in China they were already playing with docsis 3.0...
anyhow to compete you have to stay ahead, so I am sure they are ready across the board..
Most likely other markets will see ITV 1st, lol who knows time will tell |

Well, congradulations Cox...I give you two thumbs up for making plans to increase the speeds in NOVA. I see a lot of other ISP's are making moves to 10mbps/1mbps which will make optimumonline not the fastest cable service in the country anymore.
I'm just wondering if Cox has plans to increase the basic package to 10/1 or 10/2 for that matter or if they will leave it at 5/2? |
