| [Lingo] Any newer firmware that S36 for DVG-1402S? I thought to share this little mishap venture on my DVG-1402S VoIP router with you guys out here who also own this device. Who knows one day you will run into the same problem I had.
I have my DVG-1402S setup to work with FWD (never used it with a Lingo service). So, I did some experiment to enable the XML Provision and sure enough my DVG-1402S was automatically flashed by Lingo with the S36 firmware. Thanks to some of you guys who e-mailed me the old firmware and now my DVG-1402S is back to normal. So, just out of curiosity, I then repeated this process for a couple of time. And to my dismay, the existing password for S34 firmware was overwritten with the new password. So, I went panic mainly because I had lost an access to the SIP menu of this DVG-1402S, i.e. the unit had been locked. Re-flashing the unit with an old firmware would not help, less with the hard reset. Anyway, I just happened to have another DVG-1402S that has been flashed with SipPhone firmware and did some little hack to find out how to download a new firmware from SipPhone. Then, using this newer firmware from SipPhone, I then managed to get back to unlock my DVG-1402S.
Honestly, I don't know if the act of re-flashing a DVG-1402S with a new version firmware will literary remove the old password or it was just a glitch. If it was the former one, then I can reassure you all that after a couple of new firmware releases, Lingo will gain control on all your DVG-1402S VoIP routers (unless the secret password code has been revealed). |
