Correct me if I read the following wrong...

I don't even need to use your DNS servers, and frankly, with Comcast and Telstra's recent troubles, I might be better off.
but am I to understand that there are ISPs so control-freak-y as to force users to use their provided DNS servers? If Mediacom tried that with me two months ago (when their AT&T owned servers would work _maybe_ 10% of the time), I would have dropped them like a bad habit.
