| Serious Sygate PF Pro Bugs After hearing so much about how great Sygate PF Pro is, I just installed it a couple of days ago on my laptop and have been noticing very serious problems with it, that I thought everybody should be aware of.
Am running XP Pro SP2 SPF Pro 5.5 Build 2637 Signature File Serial No. 1.0.1059
Here are the issues I have started seeing after installing the firewall:
I just cannot get Symantec Client VPN to work as long as the firewall is enabled. I see no block messages in the logs. "Enable driver level protection" is OFF. Others at the office are reporting this as well.
My wireless adapter periodically disappears. I take the laptop to the office where I have it connected to the wired LAN. Bring it home in the evening where I have a wireless network, and when I first open up my laptop at home, bring it out of standby, the Wireless adapter is gone.. its missing from Network Connections. I have to reboot to get it back. I think Sygate PF being an NDIS driver is not handling something correctly with NDIS, or its power management is messed up.
Also started noticing that on some occasions my laptop will not go into standby.
Install SPF Pro is the only change I have made to the machine, and due to the nature of the problems and the fact that SPF Pro is using an NDIS driver is very suspicious.
Any other laptop users seeing this problem ??

| Greetings,
I had a similar problem with Sygate. I have a wireless laptop. I uninstalled Sygate. I re-Installed Sygate and checked ALLOW for "ndisuio.sys" after someone recommended that I do that in another post. It works great now.

It amazes me how many compatibility issues Sygate has even though it hardly has any features compared to other firewalls.

| Another bug:
Even when I have the firewall set to Allow All it still appears to be filtering traffic. Heres a small test:
Run an app that communication with the internet. When Sygate pops up an alert, allow all traffic, and check the "Dont show this to me again".
Set the firewall to "Allow All"
Now overwrite the app with a another version (different SHA1/MD5), and run the new version. Sygate will popup an alert saying that the app has changed. WHY is it still monitoring traffic ?
