There are bits of this problem scattered on other threads, but I want to consolidate this important issue here:
1. I have done exhaustive testing, and find unequivocally that the Sunrocket Gizmo (before the Router), chops my download speed and half.
2. I prefer to have it this way (before the router).
3. Firmware is 4.5. There are mixed reports on whether the new firmware fixes this problem. Does it?
4. Various people have reported problems getting this firmware. Has anyone come up with a good way or correct things to complain about) to get it? |

@rr.com | I had the same problem with 4.50. I got 4.54 and it solved the issue for 3 weeks, but the past week it seems to have come back (slow inet speed) for some reason. No idea why. |

Your point 1 is correct. It does cut the speed. That is why I got the configuration changed and have my router connected first to the cable modem and the ATA connects through the router. That way, the ATA cannot restrict the bandwidth...but then, you have to be careful not to throttle the bandwidth such that it will affect your voice quality.
