[ Extreme] Sweet torrent speed

Click for full size
I'm downloading a torrent in BitComet... and I'm getting a sweet speed. However, the upload sucks. And I only have it restricted to 70KB/s (so I can browse and what not, which I can't do if it's unlimited) but it's poor when the torrent's going this fast. Weird.

The speed is good only because you don't need to upload.
Cap the screen with at least 30k upload with other
normal torrent & show us if it still fast?

It's not, that is the point. However, the need to upload really had nothing to do with it. There was lots of peers, so I'm sure the demand was there. I some how just got a sweet download speed from somebody and made my upload crap.

Well, if this is the case for every single torrent over the next couple of days, welcome to Ted's *SAND*box!!!

Rogers has been throttling the torrent protocal since last fall. Some areas can't UL past 10 kB's and if there aren't too many people on a torrent and you need to UL to get more DL speed, too bad. Just have to wait until he moves those nasty boxes to another area.

The throttling is not absolute. Peers will get though and sometimes have good speed (up or down). It would be instructive if you could see what each peer is doing. Don't know about Bitcomet but you can do this in Azureus.

If you're lucky, during a download you will latch on to a peer that feeds you at 200KB/s+ and speeds things along to a quick finish.
