| Million Marijuana March
Just wanted to shout out to everyone that this Saturday is the 7th annual Million Marijuana March across the world. In 300 cities around the world, people gather at a picked meeting spot, and march (while havin a toke or two  ) for legalization and activism.
I'm not sure about the rest of Canada, but Toronto starts theirs at 2:00 p.m. sharp, starting at Queen's Park behind the legislature building. You can arrive at the park anytime past 11, and are free to relax in the park, play some hackysack or some frisbee, enjoy the vendors (all the head shops and sponsors have booths there) and enjoy a doob  At 2 p.m. sharp, everyone leaves to march, taking up half the street for a large block (30-45 min walk).
The festivities continue until almost 9 at night, but after the 4:20 countdown, it's just basically music and chilling.
It's good times, the police presence is low and it's their easiest days work because there is nothing for them to do. It helps the economy, and it gives pot heads one day a year to come together to fight for legalization.
I know a lot of people do not know about this, so I thought I would spread the word! |

I've been the last 2 years and there have been a total of 0 arrests. And with 5000-10000 people there, 5 cops are gonna have a problem arresting everyone. Besides, it's a really peaceful protest and it's one day a year who is it hurting?
And if you think drugs are bad because they are illegal, try thinking for yourself! All drugs have a purpose (except crack), abuse is the problem. |

If what you say is true, then why does the Canadian Government allow marijuana and marijuana extracts, both real and synthetic, for relief of neuropathic pain and pain associated with cancer? This is a huge step forward for people who suffer from dibilitating pain. For my pains, I'm prescribed a medication that has many nasty side effects, Fortunately, I'm a prime candidate for Sativex, a natural marijuana derivative that relieves pain and has fewer side effects. I'll find out how well this works when it comes out in a month.
If anything, I think alcohol and tobacco should be illegal, but I know it'll never happen, soon. Too much revenue generated from their sales. Alcohol and tobacco have created more grief than marijuana ever will.
BTW, presently I don't smoke pot, but I don't have any problems with people who do and yes, I *am* considering it.

| Remember the price wouldn't be the price dealers are asking now plus tax. It would first depend on demand which if legal would be great. It would also give farmers another choice as a cash crop. BYOP |
