network routing/bridging

Click for full size
i would like to route my network as seen in the picture, i will soon be using nearly all mikrotik for bridging. i want each site to run on its own ip range, but how do i get mikrotik to route correctly through everything? and more importantly, how do i even get mikrotik to act as a bridge, as i was reading that you have to use EoIP, which i heard has alot of overhead, so how do you all do it?

If that were a wired network, I'd look at OSPF. Do MikrotiK boxes provide a functional ospfd?

Yes MT supports OSPF.

would you recommend routing over bridging?

It depends on network sizing and other goals. If you only have 2-3 pops and aren't looking to scale then bridging is probably ok, anything more and you need to look into routing.

You might not route all of the backbone segments, instead just bridge them but route all traffic jumping on and off the backbone at a certain pop. You can get into trouble with routing and shaky bachauks if you don't do this.

so would i route only at the backhauls pointing back at towards my "noc"?

Can you create a ring of that graph in any way?
If you are not bridging and can create a few rings in your graph then OSPF will auto-magically heal your route tables if a segment of the ring is taken out.

But if you need to bridge, route as deep into your network as possible and then bridge. Or use proxy-arp instead of bridging I guess.

well i have to reason to bridge now, as it is just as expensive to bridge as it is to route with mikrotik, which is what i am using from now on(if i can figure out all the details)

maybe in the future i will setup a more redundant system, but for now this is all that i can do.

here is a MUCH more detailed drawing of workings of ip network, tell me what you all think!

and would i have to setup ospf or some routing protocol, and if so how to do it?

Your network schema looks pretty good. For that small of a network I'd probably just use static routing.

well that is what it is now, this summer it will be (at minimum) doubling in size, with its size continuing to grow
