|  Broadband is a Luxury....For Now
I consider BB a luxury, however in the very near future it may be considered an essential utility, like the water, gas, phone, and electric utilities.
I think that Muncipial Broadband is an exellent idea so long as the private sector does not deploy, nor provide broadband service in those areas that the private sector considers unprofitable for some reason or another.
However, broadband is not a RIGHT. You can connect with the internet with a dial-up connection and in fact I have been using BB for a little over two years now. Before then I was using a dial-up connection since 1990 to go online. |
