I haven't read from people that it didn't work.... Of course, people who don't use something often spout off old claims as if they're still the case... |

Backed up my profile to be safe, hit the software update button in options and bing ! ....all extensions, settings & tweaks are intact.

| reply to munsonburger said by munsonburger :Hi, like FF alot, but had one problem with it. Wanted to download 2 MP3 shows with FF. Where you would normally right click "save target as", I could only download the name of the file or the url. So, had dust off my old IE, did the same thing and was able to download the entire file. This happened on another site with success using IE, but was unable to download using FF. Am probably missing info w/r and need to learn more. Anyway, I put the IE back in its box and haven't had a problem yet. Have a good day. This is actually a problem with the website code anot not firefox. Just so you know! |

| reply to DaDogs said by DaDogs :It is funny how many web sites are written to display correctly in only one browser. Usually that browser is IE, even if IE is bugged and the code is written to take that bug into consideration. I don't know enough about the correct rendering of HTML/XML/VRML to tell you which browser most closely sticks with the standards. What I can tell you is that I have about same problems with IE and FF, but I feel that FF is more secure generally. So I run FF 98% of the time and I run IE when I have to run IE. Some sites just won't work with anything else, but they are usually sites that were built with Front Page. You know, it would be interesting to see a list of sites that only work properly in IE. I wonder if anyone has compiled such a list? -- »www.ckt.com |

| reply to DaDogs said by DaDogs :said by Phil :I don't need a number to tell me FF is better than alternative browsers. Sure, 50 million sounds a bit unrealistic, but at the end of the day it's a great browser that can only get better. Aye, better than that, my mom is 72 and she loves it. I installed it last fall during one of the rounds of IE Phishing exploits that we are NOT talking about in this thread. Microsoft screwed the pooch and the door got left open to the IE corral, now all the little doggies that stayed in the pen are whining and crying 'cause there are people smart enough to look elsewhere when they discover their browser is a POS ... Whatever, I'd say that I've DL'd maybe thirty copies of FF myself. Probably four or five are dupes or reinstalls, the rest were legit installs on real systems for people who were sick of IE and willing to try something different. Not a single one of them has complained. If Grandma likes it, it's probably ok. What I didn't tell you was Grandma was a keypunch operator on a Univac in the late 50's. Grandma is kinda picky about the quality of her software. Well, my only gripe is that some websites are designed improperly so they don't work properly. For example, just last week a buddy of mine came over and he needed to access a real-state site and of course I told him to use FF after he searched, but could find no IE link/icon. It turns out FF doesn't display the fly out menus properly. I know it's not FFs fault, but how can I recommend something doesn't work some of the time.
Don't get me wrong, I'm an avid FF fan. -- »www.ckt.com |

Geez, with a statement like that, you imply that your statement is FACT when it's nothing more than your opinion. How 'bout choosing your wording a bit more accurately ? Well there obviously isn't Remotely close to fifty million users! And I think it's obvious to most that the number is artificial!
