Port 8000 is usually a proxy or http port. Try pluging your IP into your browser with this format......
»12.111.111.111:8000/ (err, put http-colon-slash-slash in front of that.)
if you don't know you have something on that port, you might have some sort of virus esp. with a non-standard port like that. |

| Well that's what it is. My networked DVD player has software that runs on my PC. It allows me to stream files off my PC to my DVD player and watch them on my projector. I put in my-ip:8000 and it took me straight to the software on my PC that the DVD player uses. All of this is done on my local network. Is there a way with the router I have to close this port to the WAN but keep it open on my LAN? |
