I dare any student to try to go to school without ever touching a computer. I'm not saying it is impossible to do so, but in todays schools/workplace you will go nowhere if you have lest than a little knowledge in computers.
With that said, Yes you consider it a valuable resource if you want to always be one or three steps behind everyone else who uses one. Otherwise it's a utility that should be utilized if you want to get ahead in todays world.
