| [OT] Nokia N91 phone with HDD - WMP
 Nokia and WMP10 |
I just read the release on the new N series phones from Nokia, and grabbed this from the Nokia site. It says that to transfer songs into the phone, you use WMP 10. What happened to the iTunes phone from Moto? it seems to have been shelved, and now this come out.....

The N91 has an integrated 4GB hard disk and supports digital music formats including MP3, M4A, AAC and WMA, Nokia said.
Also, I have a friend at Mototola in Chicago, who tells me that the Motorola itunes phone is alive and well, but he cant get any more specific than that. |

| No, the article makes no mention of m4p or Fairplay. It also makes no mention of iTunes, so I'm guessing it has some generic in-house media player that can play back AAC.
This is just one more thing that makes me happy about my decision to strip the DRM out of my ITMS purchases immediately after downloading them.
Incidentally, most of the major 3G cellular networks use AAC as their voice compression codec, so almost all cellphones are capable of AAC playback already. Whether the CPU and I/O channels can handle CD-quality bitrate is something else though. -- I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend your right to encrypt it. |
