I'd agree that it wouldn't be the first time an ISP had taken port blocking steps without notifying it's customer base. I'd also agree that it's always best to try as much as possible to rule out something on your end being the cause first. Although this forum can sometimes get a bit heated. I don't really see why it had to get that way in this thread. Maybe the person who posted anonymously has information or history with this person. That we are unaware of. Or maybe they are just trying to stir the pot a bit for fun. But it could be they feel they have an axe to grind. Not the first time we've seen that here.
Yes the forum is here to help all of us when we have an issue. I think it also gets used wisely - as a clearinghouse of information in regards to Insight.
I personally feel it sets a bad precedent to jump down someones throat just for asking a question or for help. It'd be different if this was a user who came in always complaining - when many times it had been shown the user needed to resolve some issues on there end. I'm not sure that was 100% the case here. -- Test Your Security Cable DiagnosticsIggyz Blog ZoneAlarm Help |

| reply to kywirelessgu johnboy45, I was simply asking to see if Insight decided to port block port 21. Other ISP's have in the past and thought that Insight might have done the same. I did admit it was a configuration problem on my end after all. I assumed that these forums are to help out people with issues NOT to just slam them.
That's my 2 cents. |

I see a guy having a problem getting FTP to work and a couple others trying to pitch in. I'm leaving insight because I'm moving to an area without it, and adz133 simply stated he's sold on ultra DSL, he didn't say anything about insight being bad, I think he just hopes (as I do) that Alltel is better.
And its easy to blame insight for overloaded nodes, and lack of equipment because it happens and its documented. Read some of the other posts on this forum before you start talking shit.
Insight has been good to me. But I've had broadband in a few different cities and it wasn't even close to great. I'm hoping alltel will be better (though I doubt I can get ultra where I'm at).
It cracks me up when trolls totally miss the point of a post and are made to look an idiot. Try coming back and registering after your 13th birthday and have an adult conversation with us.
And now for probably one of the oldest images on the internet that I think sums it up nicely.
