Re: [News] Insight Columbus e-mails about running

It is a part of there TOS, unfortunate that they do not offer business class for you if you are willing to pay the premium, but just becuase they never enforced it before does not make it a part of the services. I see the running a private webservice on a cable systm in 2 ways. 1. Normallly it would be low bandwidth for a typical user whos friends might view it. 2. you put up something of interest and you get the slashdot affect crippling usage for everyone on your node. If it is important to you and WOW is ok with it, I would head there inyour situation. There are many free or inexpensive ways to do a personal website also, so that is not all that limiting, though you lose the freedom of total control.

Re: [News] Insight Columbus e-mails about running

The way I see it is that I buy a service from them and if I want to use it at 100% 24/7 then I should be able to. Granted I do not do that at all or even close, but its like getting telephone service and having them tell you who you can and can not call. Or like having them tell me what I can and can not watch on TV. Didn't comcast just get forced to allow people to use VOIP? In my opinion its the same thing. Its up to them to provide the infrastructure to handle the load.

They sure aren't doing anything about the 4-5 neighbors I have with wide open wireless.

I sure hope FOIS makes around here as they clearly state do want you want with it.
