| [Mp3] Ipod versus Dell DJ
I have a Dell DJ. I use it when I mow the lawn. I sit on a riding tractor on fairly smooth terrain.
I have had three DJ Hard Drives go dead. I am frustrated and almost at the point of ditching the DELL in favor of an iPod.
Can anyone comment on the ruggedness of the iPod and whether the HDD are prone to similar problems? I don't jog or run with it, though I occasionally walk with it in my pocket. If the iPod is more rugged, I may simply invest another $250 or so in a unit rather than play games with the DJ. |

| My 3g iPod has not died on me and i have had it since October of 2003. The iPod has a 25min cache so it will not skip unless it is between that 15 second period to spin up the HD and fill the cache. It will be fine for walking, as I have not had a problem with it. My uncle has had problems with his DJ, having 4 HD's die, and is planning on an iPod as well.
