said by nrf :docs on this firmware are sparse, what does it mean to use both tkip and aes? that is uses higher strenght encrytion AND changes the key regularly? or is it either/or since some pcs may not support aes? No, it just means that you can use both simultaniously. For example, you have one pc using PSK-AES, and onother one, that only can handle PSK-TKIP.
PSK-AES and PSK-TKIP are both safe, but PSK-AES uses AES encryption (stronger encryption), while PSK-TKIP uses RC4 encryption. -- »www.hyperspacehome.com Home of HyperWRT & HyperWAP, custom firmware for the Linksys WRT54G, WRT54GS and WAP54G. |
